The Cruckton & District Ploughing & Hedging Society have been honoured with the King`s Award for voluntary service 2024. This is the highest accolade that a voluntary organisation can receive and is the equivalent of an M.B.E.
Cruckton & District Ploughing & Hedging Society started in 1927 and is still going strong 97 years later. It is a Registered Charity run by Volunteers, who all work unpaid.
The Society encourage and promote competitions, demonstrations and social events relating to ploughing, hedging and farm management. The recognition of this award is an amazing achievement and well deserved for all the outstanding work both past and present members and volunteers have contributed to the Society.
Karen Pritchard, Secretary for Cruckton & District Ploughing Society, commented, "We are immensely proud of our Committee Members who contribute so much in organising the match yearly. Without all of them, it wouldn't be possible.
In our 97th year, we are still going strong and long may it continue!"
