Results have been announced for the Growing Cereal classes as part of the Brailsford Ploughing and Hedgecutting Society competitions.
Present on the judging day were; Judge Phil Smith, Steward Mick Bailey and also Graham Knight.
Despite the day starting misty and grey, the team received a warm welcome from all of the farms
that entered.
They saw 14 high-standard entries covering the classes of; Winter Wheat, Winter Barley,
Spring Barley, Oats and Beans.
Phil Smith, (pictured below) judging the categories, remarked how well certain crops had fared despite difficult growing conditions this year.
We look forward to awarding all trophies at the annual ploughing match on 2nd October at Middleton Park Farm, Alkmonton, Ashbourne, Derbyshire
