We are looking for a passionate Junior Calf Rearer to join our client’s growing team in North Wales. In this role, you will assist with the daily care of calves from birth to weaning, focusing on their health, nutrition and overall well-being. Working closely with a dedicated team, you’ll follow best practices to ensure high standards of calf care and contribute to the success of a growing business. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to learn and make a difference in youngstock care.

Responsibilities:

To assist with daily calf care including feeding, basic health checks, and general care
To closely monitor calf health and performance; reacting promptly to any issues for a quick resolution
To maintain a clean and comfortable calf environment
To follow protocols and biosecurity measures to maintain high standards of calf health
To maintain accurate records of calf health, weights and feeding regime

Skills:

Experience and/or good basic knowledge of calf rearing or working with livestock
Good time management and organisational skills
Strong attention to detail, especially in maintaining records
The ability to follow procedures and protocols accurately
A team player who can communicate effectively
A willingness and enthusiasm to learn and develop
Self-motivated and flexible with the confidence to work independently (when required)
Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks

Benefits:

A competitive salary and package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience. Weekend work on a rotating schedule is required.
