Do you manage land or farm within Shropshire or Telford and Wrekin? If so, we’d like to invite you for a discussion on the new Local Nature Recovery Strategy and how the new mapping tool can help you make future decisions about land and nature management.
Local Nature Recovery Strategies are a new, England-wide system of statutory spatial strategies that will set nature priorities and map specific nature proposals. The aim is to drive nature’s recovery and provide wider environmental benefits. They were introduced under the Environment Act and every area of England will be covered by its own Local Nature Recovery Strategy. Shropshire Council and Telford & Wrekin Council are working together to produce a LNRS for Shropshire.
The new mapping system contains detailed information about land quality and habitat. It can be a useful tool for deciding how and when to make more space for nature. However, like all new systems, it is still under development and we need your local knowledge and input. You can find out the latest updates on the LNRS process here.
Join us for a demonstration of the new system and a discussion about how it could be useful for farming and land management.
